Insurers
As of 7 September 2013, insurers must be licensed under section 19 of the Insurance (Prudential Supervision) Act 2010 in order to carry on insurance business in New Zealand.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is the licensing authority for insurers. For more information on how to apply to become licensed, or the obligations that apply to insurers under the Act, visit the Reserve Bank website.
