Non-bank deposit takers

From 1 May 2014, non-bank deposit takers must be licensed (defined in section 5 of the Non-Bank Deposit Takers Act 2013) in order to carry on non-bank deposit taker business in New Zealand.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is the licensing authority for non-bank deposit takers. For more information on how to apply to become licensed, or the obligations that apply to non-bank deposit taker under the Act, visit the Reserve Bank website.
