Welcome to this short video on how to file an annual confirmation on the Financial Service Providers Register.

Visuals

The URL for the Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR) website, https://fsp-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz is entered into a web browser search bar and the FSPR home page is displayed.

Audio

As a financial service provider or ‘FSP’, you’re required to confirm your registration details with us each year, in the month you selected when you registered. This means letting us know the financial services you offer, and the details for your FSP – and demonstrating that you're operating legally, and meeting the minimum threshold, where required.

Visuals

A message appears on the screen, which reads:

‘If you are registered on the FSPR more than once – for example, as a financial adviser and a financial advice provider – you’ll need to submit an annual confirmation for each.’

Audio

Before you file your annual confirmation, it’s important to make sure the details held on the register for your FSP are up to date.

Visuals

The screen then changes to show the FSPR’s online dashboard.

On the dashboard screen, the menu headed ‘FSP Registrations’ has been selected and a list of FSP’s is visible. A cursor is shown selecting the FSP labelled ‘FSP NAME ONE (FSPxxx)’ and the screen focusses on the ‘View FSP details’ section of the screen where the FSP’s general details, such as name and address, are highlighted.

The screen again shows the FSPR home page.

Audio

For entities registered on another Companies Office register, you must first update the information on the home register.

Visuals

The screen changes to show the Companies Register home page (https://companies-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz), as an example of a home register that might need to be updated.

The cursor selects the menu headed ‘Maintaining a company’. This opens a new menu with the options labelled ‘Maintain directors’ and ‘Maintain addresses’ highlighted.

Audio

And then return to the FSPR to refresh the details.

Visuals

The screen returns to a shot of the FSPR page headed ‘View FSP details’. The camera zooms in on a button near the top of the page labelled ‘Refresh’. The screen fades to the FSPR home page.
