The FMA levies on the Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR) are increasing from 1 July, and this will affect the total fees you’ll need to pay.
The change is part of the government’s plan to increase the FMA’s budget to help it fulfil its responsibilities as the financial markets regulator. Levies will increase progressively over a 3-year period between 2020 and 2022. This year’s increase is the second round of FMA levy changes.
Further information about the levy changes can be found on the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) website.
If you need to use the FSPR in June (for example, to file an annual confirmation), make sure you do so before 1 July to avoid paying the higher levies.
