New levies for some FSPs

New Financial Markets Authority (FMA) levies came into force on 1 July 2023

FMA levies for Financial Service Providers Registry have increased for Classes 2A and 3A. This change affects the levies that you need to pay when filing an annual confirmation.

  • Class 2A covers some registered banks and licensed non-bank deposit takers.
  • Class 3A covers some licensed insurers.

Background

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) sets these levies on behalf of the FMA. The Companies Office collects these through the Financial Service Providers Register and passes them through to the FMA.
